Re: Fundraiser Image for MODA
Due: Tuesday November 8th by 5pm.
Format: Square format shape, 300dpi that will be used on the web (within an email blast that must be sent out by Thursday Nov. 10th) and possibly other applications on their website or in print. PDF or Jpeg.
If you use type it should be Hevetica Nue. You already know they love their red.
Subject Matter: MODA is about to do an email blast to their members and beyond to ask for a $25 donation to be made by the end of 2011 to MODA. It is the hope of the museum to possibly raise $100,000 by the end of the year to facilitate their expenses and to assure that the museum remains financially solid. Non Profit organizations like MODA (and even NPR) annually seek funding. You can be a part of that by creating an image for them to use.
Notes: If you look at some of the images previously created for " Camp MODA" and "Drink in Design" and "Design Conversation" and also " Nine for Design" you can kind of see what they are looking for visually. However, It is up to your own imagination regarding how you approach this "Square format" fundraiser image.
*It might be a wonderful illustration (like the camp MODA kid) or a clever use of type or both. It could also be an image you create along with some catch phrase that would ENGAGE the public to make them WANT to send a $25 donation into MODA by end of the year. I'm thinking it could even be somewhat of a holiday gift-giving image or perhaps something rather holiday-ish or some clever way image of dancing currency or an image of a hand with currency....again, the concept is yours and you can do as many as you want.
Again, this should revolve around someone to want to contribute $25 to the museum. Gift Giving. Donation.
Cash Prize:
MODA will choose the design they love best and give a $100 cash prize to the designer. On top of that I plan to MATCH their $100 cash prize thereby making the total prize $200 cash. There is incentive here financially but also you can use this in your portfolio as client-related work for this wonderful museum.
MODA is a great client and friend for us to have as Brenda Galina and Laura Flusche have celebrated and cheered your creativity by exhibiting your work inside their museum. It has been a wonderful relationship over the past few years which is why I hope each of you will participate. Think of it as a "take home pop quiz" for design this weekend.
The Chosen design will be announced at the Seniors MODA Advertising World AIDS Day presentation on Thursday November 10th. If a Junior designer's work is chosen you do not need to be present as I will bring the cash to you at your 2:30 class.
Please submit all work directly to me and I will compile them to send along to MODA by end of day Tuesday. Again, they should be 300dpi/pdf or jpg. I hope you'll enter.
