Part Three: Illustrative Alphabet

(the above event poster is here to show you an example of how you might begin your design assignment.

You've designed it.
You've advertised it.
Now, a client has bought it and wants to use it for their event in a poster or announcement.

How do you use your Illustrative Alphabet with a client and what kind of event is it?
Remember, it's not so much about the Alphabet anymore but the usage of your design.

As in any event you should have the who, what, when and where and sponsored by in the Advertisement. It can be a public event or a company private event.
Think about who would buy your typeface and how they might use it.

You should have one or two sponsors for that event (one being Target) and any others of your choice. Those company logos should appear on your poster.

You can write original copy/text for your event or you can lift it from another resource that has already transpired...excluding the date/time info. That should be current or you could pre-date the event...like January 2012.

Be clever on how you put your new typeface to work.
Think about all your options and even the event you place it in...everything you do in this design assignment demonstrates your ability to conceptualize and manufacture a design that is all-inclusive of your alphabet.

Do you use your Typeface as the Headline?
Do you use it someplace else? What are your secondary typefaces that you might suggest to use with your Typeface?
Do you create a visual to work on your design and how does that visual/photo work with your original typeface? Is your typeface the visual only?

Everything plays into how your put to use your original typeface.

It must look legit. Plan carefully.
